  • 1. About the JSICR

    • (1) History of the JSICR
      The Japan Society of Information and Communication Research(JSICR) has established on Oct. 24, 1983. 1983 was the year United Nations had advocated as World Communications Year (WCY). Approved in a Cabinet meeting, in Japan the Headquarters on WCY was established with at the time Prime Minister as head. In order to prepare domestic programs, National Committee was founded having Michio Nagai of Special Adviser for President of United Nations University as President and various activities had been conducted. As one of them an activity started around national committee to establish an academic society for research and exchange of opinions. After holding the organizing committee, they got permission from Minister of Education on Oct 12, 1983 and JSICR was established.

      We devote to development of communication by comprehensive, interdisciplinary researching and studying on Information and Communication, and promoting cooperation between scholars.

  • 5. Activities

    • (1) Annual meeting

      Annual meeting commbined with general meeting is held in the middle of June with lectures, symposiums, workshops, presentations and conferences.

       
    • (2) International Communication Forum

      The JSICR hold Lectures and symposiums in November as one of the main activity based on the proposal that is adovocated when it's established in Oct. 1983.

       
    • (3) Study Meeting

      7 permanent study meeting and 9 specified study meeting have been set up. Study meetings are held about 20 times in a year.

    • (4) Publication

      Journal is published four times in a year. The contents is constituted with prepublication papers, reports of stdy meetings, reports of activities and annoucements.
